In Canada, the 'delivery and dealer prep' charges on double what they are in the US. Typically, we pay in the area of $1300 compared to $650 in the US. I complained to Honda Canada, but got the usual 'having to print manuals in two official languages' and the 'high cost of transportation in Canada' excuses. I would imagine that the cost of printing two sets of manuals to be less than $50 extra at the very most. Transportation in Canada is more expensive, but not anywhere near double. Our country is served by two national railways, reaching more than 90% of population. The phone rep tried to tell me that having to ship cars to the Yukon was terribly expensive. I'm sure it is, but I doubt sending a few truck loads north isn't much different than shipping to Alaska. Add this $1300 on top of the already overpriced Canadian product, then pay double sales taxes and it's just too much. We need change now.
