I've been with Rogers for over 20 years with TV, Internet and Cell and my problems all started when I signed up for a 2year cell phone contract in 2003. The day i received the phone i first noticed that i didn't get the requested last four digits in the number which were very important for my PC Repair company. So i called Rogers up to get them to correct their mistake .... and would you believe the support rep actually told me they would be more than happy to correct their mistake, but the 'computer' would only let them change my number for a $75 fee. First day ever of Rogers cell phone service... actually first minute and i'm arguing with a support rep over a charge to correct their mistake.
Fast forward to July 2009 with no major incidents or problems when i noticed my basic monthly cell bill rising noticebly along with my Internet so i called Rogers to inquire why. They told me because i wasn't under contract they could implement pricing changes and service reductions at any time by giving notice in my bill which i usually never read. So I told them to cancel my cell phone and internet service which they did and since i'm a PC tech i had access to free internet and cell phone through some of my clients. I get my next bill from Rogers and it has kept charging me my usual cell and internet charges for after it was cancelled. So i called Rogers up to ask why ... now they claim they will continue to charge me for 2 years because i was under contract.(my only contract ever expired in 2005) I legitamately owed about $200 and they continued to charge me until the bill reached over $900 and then sent it to collections which i had to hire a lawyer to settle it for about $500. Now 6 months after i supposedly settled the account another Rogers collections outfit starts harassing me for some $170 of which they have not produced any invoice or documentation ..... and i haven't used ANY Rogers service since July 2009. They have been a nightmare and much of their problem is their automated billing which according to most Rogers support reps nobody is authorized to manual correct accounts.
Well payback can be a bitch since I have over 500 PC clients who ALL use my advice for their ISP carriers .... out of 500 clients 270 were with Rogers ... notice the italics on were .... well none are with Rogers now and they all were paying in excess of $50/month, but we'll use $50/month for the calculations.
270 x $50 = $13,500/month and it's been 9 months since they all fled Rogers so now Rogers has lost $121,500 and counting since they pissed off the wrong customer. :)
