Ok, well... Why isnt anyone blaming the government? The CRTC (the government) actually de-regulated wireless providers (2007)...Meaning, there are no rules about the maximum price the companies are allowed to charge for services, this is the case with landline phone and television...there are price limits in place for content and service. So if for example you tell a company that they can charge as much as they want... what do you think will happen? They will charge as much as they CAN!
They dont care if the high end apple iphone isnt available to every fucking canadian, they rather sell them to the people with money who can also buy large (expensive) data plans to go with them!
Also, everywhere else where cellphones are cheaper have higher population density and so they can afford to give everyone a good price while maintain the infrasructure. Now given that the Canadian population is not as dense, the companies need to charge higher rates to cover the costs of running all this + upgrading every few months to keep up with technology (GPRS,EDGE,3G,3.5G etc etc)....im not saying this is the only reason, but it is a part of it..
Im just happy that I at least understand things a little more than an idiot that comes on here, blasts a bunch of swears and victimizes themselves to the point that they sound like a bunch of psychotic over-grown kids having major tempter tantrums after not getting what they want in a store. Geez... get a better job, or even a credit card.... then get the god-damned iphone and shut up... you big bunch of iTwats
