I use Pay As You Go. Last year when I was away and not using my phone, it happened to coincide with my credit card being replaced. (They were withdrawing the money automatically from my checking) They couldn't make the withdrawal for 3 months in a row so forbade me for life for using a credit card even though I have excellent credit rating. I thought as long as I wasn't using the phone it wouln't matter if the money ran out since it's not a plan. You just put in $10.00 every month. If you buy a $10.00 card it doesn't matter if you let it lapse.
