So i received a email stating that rogers and fido will not offer a upgrade option to current iphone customers what bullshit is this, clearly rogers is trying to be greedy again Poor Taste?

we can't be certain that rogers/fido won't offer a upgrade option. THEY BETTER OFFER OR I AM DONE I WILL PAY MY CONTRACT FEES AND GET OUT AND SWITCH TO TELUS!

Actually, I read that upgrades are available as long as youre qualified (Its been a year since your last upgrade, you have a data and voice plan) To be honest I think Rogers is changing cuase they confirmed MMS and Tethering support right off the bat, unlike AT&T which has yet to confirm either.

I think rogers already had mms and at&t is not offering these right away due to mass amount of users they have. rogers mms is very expensive and they can offer tethering because their data plans are so expensive. common guys rogers is evil.. don't be fooled by their stunts...

Rogers sucks big time , BS GSM monopoly . I am waiting on to cancel my contract , sell off my iphone ( coz of no upgrade ) and switch to Globalive when it comes out. Rogers/RObbers will lose their business once we get more competition

I just got off of the phone with a Rogers representative who said that those who got an iPhone last year won't be eligible for an upgrade this year. Whereas before you just had to wait a year before you could upgrade (with a 3 year plan) now you have to wait TWO years before you can upgrade. They keep amazing me with their marketing stupidity.

yea, Rogers only allows you to upgrade smartphones after 2 years. All other phones can be upgraded after one.. kinda stupid. even if there was an upgrade price for the 3G S, it'll blow the roof

YES it's TRUE....I just spent an hour with a Fido phone drone (seriously are these people on heavy medication??) and basically, they won't say "officially" until the Iphone 3GS drops but yes.....you got a 3G and want a 3GS....pony up $800 suckers...Rogers shareholders thank you!! Where's the online petition to protest THIS?.....IMO it's MUCH worse than the whole Dataplan fiasco they tried to ram down consumer's throats when the 3G was introduced....Even AT&T isn't charging that kind of ridiculous fee for upgrading handsets!!!!!

Yup - agreed - another example of good, paying customers getting screwed over because Rogers (and Bell) has a monopoly.
