I own an iPhone 3G. Myself and a lot of people I know want to upgrade to the new iPhone when it is released. I think you would be losing a lot of potential business and revenue if you choose not to.

now get this

Rogers and Fido Confirm iPhone 3GS Launch, No Off-Contract Option Or Upgrade Option what crap is this, if it was not for us Fido and Rogers would be dead in the water, Fido need to give us Unlimited internet & Email for 30$ and a upgrade option

 

Don't be uninformed. It's been a day since the press release, give them some slack.

Fido will have it.
There will be Device-Only pricing.
No word on iPhone 3G ---> 3G[S] prices, but just wait a bit. There's a whole lot of time until the actual release, so expect more news when they actually get a chance to put some numbers together.
Also, Rogers is offering the 5GB for $30 again, so that's a plus. I don't see any voice-only plans for iPhone though, so I don't really get that. Oh well.

Just because this site is about Rogers doing a bad job starting off with the previous iPhone, doesn't mean that they're always bad about everything.

Hey Shawn, Rogers doesn't try to screw Fido, they bought Fido back in 2004. Do your homework. and FYI, they both suck, theirs contracts and prices are a joke!!!

Rogers/Fido will be charging "full no contract" handset price (approx $800 Can) to upgrade from a Iphone G to GS....basically SCREWING their existing customer base with no "reasonable" upgrade path....meanwhile and Joe or Jane on the street (who are already victims of Rogers/Fido) can walk into a store and get a shiny new GS for $199 or 299....even AT&T isn't charging the equivalent of $800 to upgrade.....this is pure corporate GREED and Gouging at it's WORST....Where's that NEW online petition to deliver to Rogers HQ??????????

and dont worry about the n97 being a non multi touch phone they are changing that on their first upgrade so if u want to do somthing for the phone community dont complain about the plan complain to nokia on the amount of time their taking to release the phone in canada(BTW THE DAMN UNITED STATES HAS WHY CANT WE)
