After a lengthy phone call to Rogers yesterday to have my iPhone replaced, I woke up this morning to find my iPhone service cancelled by Rogers.
On the 22nd I was experiencing issues with my phone. I called them and was run through the steps to fix the problem. They either purposely hung up on me or I lost the connection. When I called back I discovered that Amanda in tech support did not take any notes so I was once again forced to go through their 7 trouble shooting steps but this time before I was done, Andrea in tech support had forward me to a different department who had no idea what was going on. After talking to them to explain my problem I learned that Andrea also didn't take proper notes on my file. A few hours later I tried again and I did get the trouble shooting steps complete and a swap order filled out. I waited a week for my phone to come by UPS. I got off work early each day to be home to receive it, but alas no phone. I learned yesterday that Henry in tech support didn't save the swap order for proccessing. Yep you guess it, the 7 step nightmare redo. By this time my iPhone had gone through 17 resets/ and 3 restores within a 2 day period.
Yesterday I was put through the 7 steps again. It was Amanda(again) in tech support who told me to reset my phone which died half way through the proccess. So officially my phone had died which I tried to explain to them was having the problems and not everything else they were putting the blame on. Because I was late for a meeting, I had to call them back in the evening to setup a swap order. This time I was connected to Steven who tried to fill out the swap except there was a cancellation order on my account. WTF? He attempted to reverse the changes to no avail. Now today I called and in order to have my service reactivated, I have to pay them $500+tax for the cancelled contract that I never agreed on or was aware of.
People told me Rogers sucked. The people at Future Shop said that if they make a mistake they'll give "special" deals to my account. I guess if you're selling a phone for $200 you'll say anything misleading. It was Jenna at the Clareview Future Shop here in Edmonton who fed me this bullshit. God, and I though Americans and American companies were stupid or liked to rip people off.
