Ok, well yesterday I wanted to upgrade my cell phone. I went onto my rogers account "online" to see the prices. I was at first looking at the Bold, however it would of cost me S700+ to get it. So i deiced to look at the Apple Iphone.

The web page quoted the iphone for $249 to upgrade with a data plan. Then it said contact 1888rogers1 for more info.

At first i was saying to myself im just going to waste my time bc they are going to force me to buy that stupid data plan.

So i went through and called until i spoke to  rep. I told them i want to upgrade my phone to the iphone. The rep then told me to wait and see if im do for a upgrade. About 2 mintues later she said yes and asked if i wanted a data plan for 30 $ a month.

I responeded with no i just want my old plan which is my5 with caller id. The rep responed with ok that fine. Asked if my mailing address was the same and told me my package will be shipped with UPS.

So i am expecting my package today or tomorrow

Just make sure to NEVER use the internet or ANY apps that will use internet.  I had the 1st generation smart phone...Sone E. P910 it has unternet and email capabilities but I had no plan...I went  to Google and went to a website and I got charged $9 ofr this 2 things by FIDO....I ordered  my iphone 2day and did not get data plan but Im aware of the cosequences coz i donot need it. So be aware!!!!

If you do not get the dataplan, the phone will automatically draw up data usage sometime.  To avoid a $1000 bill you will need to either call rogers tech support to block all data on their end, or jailbreak your iphone and install BossPrefs and then disable data on your phone.
