I have acquired an iPhone from a business associate that was transferred out of country right after getting the iPhone through Rogers. Since he was relocated he was forced to pay out his Rogers contract, thus owning his phone without a contract.
I went to a Rogers store, and emailed Rogers directly to ask how I get this phone on a Month to Month plan, or even just a 1 year contract. I was told that JUST BECAUSE it was an iPhone I had to sign up for 3 years. I asked them why, and they said "For teh iPhone plans, you must sign up for 3 years" I said, well what about a regular 3G Voice and Data plan, and not a specific " iPhone plan " they still wanted me to sign up for 3 years.
Rogers rape strikes again. Is this legal? To force people to go on a 3 year contract due to the model of thier phone only and not because they are trying to recoop the cost of the phone?
What a crock!
