This is a response to whoever said Rogers is so good to us with the Iphone 3G Whoever said the iphone 3G is a luxury item? Steve Jobs specificly said the Iphone 3G is a phone for the mass. What part of it tells you it's a luxury item? The plastic? The Apple Logo? Grow up. He mentioned that the phone is priced at $199 for the 8Gb (with contract). This is when we all wanted the iphone. We thought its finally something that is affordable to most of us. The hope disappeared completely after Rogers announced the plan prices. Just an update, I was just told that Rogers customers with Corporate plans can upgrade to the iphone as of August 1st. The price you have to pay is $499 + 3 years contract for the 8gb phone. Compare to the $199 + 2 years at AT&T.. there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE. It is not even about the iphone being a luxury item or not. it is about how Steve Job specificly told us it was a cheaper Iphone... it becomes a luxury phone when under ROGERS!!!!!! That's why 60,000 people on this website are complaining! Secondly, to your point about Iphone exchange policy, what's your point ? You think Rogers wants to let you exchange your Iphone if something goes wrong? it's because Apple who demands this policy .. as well as the government! Thirdly, you were defending for Rogers Reps doing their best to bring us the excitement we are looking for? Um... obviously you are working for Rogers. Ask anyone in Canada about their EXCITEMENT when dealing with Rogers Reps. I have been with Rogers for more than 10 years. I can tell you every single time i call Rogers, I have problems. I just moved to a new place. I had problems setting up my Cable, Wireless and internet with Rogers. They always promise something and then next thing you know "oh I don't know what the previous Rep told you but obviously he/she didn't have enough training". I have 50 more stories if your interested! Just think about why this website had so much publicity... because we all agree Rogers ruined the iphone... everyone besides YOU. The special idiot. Poor Taste?

I completely agree with you!

When I called on July 11th and complained about the price(s) they had for the phone. I was told it was a 'luxury' item.... I got angry and told the rep how the whole point of the Iphone in Steve Jobs words was more 'affordable'.

Rogers, you ruined the iphone.

I phoned yesterday, and they told me that I can upgrade my phone to the 16gb for 349 and get a $50 mail in rebate. so back to 299$. i am existing customer

Tony, If you read my words correctly. it's a CORPORATE PLAN. Something that you are NOT on. if you don't know anything dont' even try to respond please. Any dumbo would know you can get an iphone for $199 + 3 yrs contract. It all depends on that kind of customer are you. Obviously you are NOT corporate. so shut up before i drill you again

I'm on a corporate plan and I still got it for $350 16 gb... good times indeed. And not a luxury item? You're kidding right? With the rising costs of everyday goods and services, how can you justify a $200 purchase of a phone being something for the casual consumer?
