Like everyone else in Canada I"ve been waiting for the iphone for about a year, checking every single week (no kidding) macrumors/apple insider and typing "iphone canada" on google.
First hope with the mocking Molson Free iPhone to win. Dumb hope, but that was the only source we had.
Then nothing but came in Rogers and Fido.
When I first saw the plans that ATT offered I was pleased because I thought that thanks to Apple's pressure, Rogers/Fido would bend (at the time we did not know the rates that were going to be applied).

Well, when they announced the plans, I was mad and thought  I wouldn't intentionaly sign to get myself ripped off.

But then, well, while thinking that I could get a iPod Touch / Phone / GPS for 199$ (and get the iJesus phone in my hands) and that during the 3 years contract, after 18months I would just have to call Rogers/Fido and ask to cancel my plan I would talk to the "Retention" department and get a new phone / better plan.....it would not be that bad. I have worked in a customer service and I know how it works. Be good, pay well, you'll get a payback when you are displeased.

I mean  we've always been stuck with 3year plans, with sh*ty prices, cra*py voice and data plans compared to the rest of the world = IT IS JUST NO CHANGE !

Ok, if this battle was about crying, complaining and just look at what others have....god we could have done this waaayy earlier !

So now look a few months ago and what is up now : what have we gotten ?
- Iphone 3G
- Better data plans than before
- Spectrum battle between existing and upcoming service providers forecasting lower prices (obviously, that is what this battle is about) and the rumors growing more and more about Bell/Telus willing to switch to GSM.


The market is changing...........BIG BIG steps ahead.

Today, we should all grow up :
We want a better phone than what the rest of Canada has to offer : WE PAY FOR OT (Its always been like that).
We want a phone: WE SUSCRIBE FOR 3 YEARS. Its always been like that.
We want an iphone: we adapt oursleves instead of wining and we pays for it.

Nobody is obliging anyone to buy an iphone...if you aint happy : GET SOMETHING ELSE !

NOBODY WONT GET ANYTHING UNTIL ROGERS PLANS SHOW THAT THEY HAVENT BEEN WELL ESTABLISHED (see whats happening to France....500mo is updated to 1Go because of GPS and Push that is using more data than what they thought).


Anyway, I dont have all day long, everyone here, just go home. And if you want an iphone just pay those 10$ extram it'll buy your happiness.
