Ladies and Gentlemen. After some serious research and debate, with regards to the iPhone, I have concluded this; "On the $30 data package, if your monthly bill comes close to $60- $65 a month (with voice and tax), quite frankly, that's good! Otherwise, if it exceeds; being that 3G technology is just taking of in Canada, I would say we have at least 1-2 more years before we can expect some more freedom in terms of not only iPhone rates, but all data rates in general. I for one would rather much enjoy owning an iPhone, but no matter what anyone thinks, and knowing that something better will always come out, I am willing to wait another year to see what happens before I make my decision. With the amount of people not buying iPhones, I am sure the market will change in some way or another. In the mean time, I would recommend signing the petition to see what happens, it doesn't take too long. Other than that, the only thing to do so far is wait till next year I guess. For anyone who is looking to get the phone now, I'd say continue fighting the cause, and try to get a deal out of Rogers. If not, then let the market decide. We waited a year for the iPhone to hit our shores, so, now, I see there being no harm in waiting another year. If you are not being treated fairly by your providers, and other corporations, stand up and let your voices be heard! We are the consumer, and our buying power can influence a lot of changes. With that said, I bid this forum farewell, and good luck. I have decided not to purchase the phone, on that basis that I would not pay more than $65 a month, this year.
