Not to sound like a dick, but who honestly RESEARCHES beforehand whether the gift card they are buying will work to buy things from the company it is for. I know it's a regulation here in Canada and thus Apple is not allowed to sell apps (software) with a gift card here in Canada, however, when you open the apps page in the iTunes store, there should be a pretty significant warning, in bold letters, near the top of the page stating this. I know why they don't, obviously, they'll lose money... After buying my $50 card and trying 17 times to download an app (by the way, even after trying to purchase the app, Apple doesn't tell you WHY, it's not working, it just happily defaults back to the app's page while you stare at the downloads list to see if anything is happening) and about 20 minutes of poking around the various help and support pages, I found a teeny, tiny little disclaimer, at the bottom of a page, written in light grey text (not black, so it would be visible, or bright red 72 point font so you would realize this is something worth reading) and I have copied and pasted it here: iTunes Cards are not redeemable for all purchases, such as iPod games or App Store purchases. Thanks Apple... and thanks Canadian government |
