I have read up on the ZENN, it is actually manufactured in France as a gasoline vehicle. The vehicles chassis are brought here to be retrofitted with an electric motor and 6 to 8 lead-acid batteries at the front and rear of the vehicle. Given the vehicle was initially designed for a gasoline engine, the axle's are now extremely stressed with the added weight of batteries. I have seen this weight distribution and its disturbing. Second, why would I want a Canadian company who doesn't want to meet the motor vehicle safety standards to operate in the same domain as manufacturers that comply? Answer, I don't! Those vehicles may have a place in our society on low speed areas, but in mixed traffic, get serious! Electric is all good, but unless its done right and lithium charged, its a bunch of crap in my opinion.
