Starbucks continues to charge higher prices for coffee, coffee beans etc - for all products than what the prices are in the US. The Canadian dollar is almost at par, shouldn't the prices be the same?
You know what I have not had Starbucks coffee in over a year. I go to coffee shops both Canadian Bean around the World, and Waves. They both have better, cheaper coffee and offer free WiFi. So don't go to Starbucks go to one of your locally owned shops! Starbucks does not care about you but your locally owned coffee shop does!
That's ridiculious. Most small coffee shop don't even offer wifi, and who's to say the coffee is better? I happen to think that starbucks offers a pretty mean cup of coffee, and the places around here have a spotty, at best, coffee review. Plus in small businesses, employees are often underpaid and expected to do manager's work for little or no extra pay. I say down with the small businesses.
No. Starbucks has to pay their workers more here than they do in the states, as well as pay higher taxes and higher energy costs (which are a result of taxes as well).
It costs more to keep a store open in Canada than it does in the US. The government would have to believe you get your medicare and CBC for free, but you pay for it every time you buy anything in this country.
