To all of those people that are still going to rush out there to be the first to get this phone (or any phone on the Rogers plans for that matter) heres why we're all looking at you with fingers pointed while laughing our asses off at you....get your calculator out poindexter this is what they don't want you to look at prior to running in there to bite their corporate hook.... 1st $299.00 to buy the phone plus $150.00 a month for three years.....this is an estimate based on the current voice plans that are still needed to be added to the iphone data plans... ok wow that was hard, already were looking at $5700.00 out of your pockets and we still havent added on the taxes or system acess fees or voicemail or caller id's or whatever else Ted decides to "tack on" over the next few years. How can any educated consumer look at these numbers in comparison to the rest of the world and even attempt to justify the amount of money Rogers is trying to screw out of us!! Rogers has no intention on lowering any prices until such time as either some actual competition comes to Canada or the government steps in to actually protect it's citizens from this type of monopolistic money grabbing policy's that is just simply fucking the shit out of us all!! Don't hold your breath waiting for the government to help you! As for you "I gotta have it first idiots" that we're lined up on the streets all night to be the 1st idiots to buy in...I can't wait till is see your add selling the iphone on kijijji cuz a 3rd of your pay is going to Rogers every month cuz then I can laugh at you all over again!!! Idiot!! Poor Taste?

Hang in there. Soon you'll have some really good plans available. Rogers is just like any business. They'll max out their money whenever they can. Until CRTC backs down on regulations for foreign carriers, Rogers will keep trying to make as much as they can to cover other sectors which it looses money on (pretty sure they still have losses from the High Speed division). They'll step up soon though or they'll go extinct. I'm on the edge of my seat for the final details of city wide free wifi, as well as which Canadian cities are getting it first. The next year is going to be so much fun!

You do not have to look at the "full commitment" cost. Buy the 16GB phone for $299. Use it for as long as you like. You can down grade to $70 including system access fee anytime. If competition comes out in 18 months. Cancel the contract, pay the penalty total of $200 or $300 if you have a data plan. So real cost of the phone "without" locked in is $499 to $599. It is cheap consider historically how much a PocketPC, Palm, Blackberry, or iPod Touch would cost.

What a retarded comment form Ken. 150 / month?? i have a 90$ plan per month that includes a data plan of 6 gigs, caller id, visual voice mail, a shitload of text messages, weekends and nights from 6 pm, 200 minutes, caller forwarding.. all this for 90$ ... i don't know where you get your 150$ that must be some cool plan where you canc all the moon Yeah 90$ is alot, but i could downgrade my voice plan any time to drop to 70$ easely, just that i like having weekends from 6 pm and caller id. Its not the iphone thats the problem here anyway, its the 7$ fees, 7$ caller id, additional fees for 6 o'clock nights etc. and thats with any phone and has nothing to do with the iphone. Get you facts straight. Maybe you were one of those that didnt get one and your bitter?

I think Ken is a bigger idiot than the people that were first in line. First off, not everyone is going to pay $150.00/mth for the plan. Yes, I was one of the first in line :) I got the 16GB iphone for $299.99 which is a lot cheaper than the buyout price of $789.00. At $299.00 it is only $100.00 more than the Sony Erricson I bought a year ago, and obviously does a lot more. The plan I got, My5 30 with 6GB data, 6pm unlimited calling, 10,000 text messages, caller ID, voicemail, etc will cost me a total of $99.86 including all charges and tax. Ya I know, sounds like a lot but it is only $20.00/mth more than I was paying before and now I have tons of features I didn't have before. The only thing Rogers needs to change is the amount of minutes you get with the plans. 6GB of data is more than enough for most people. I have only used 5MB of data since Friday and that was after viewing a few youtube vids, using GPS and email as well as facebook.
