Although I am not a big fan of iPhone, nor I do not own an iPhone. But the price and rate for wireless is extremely high, in comparison to the States and other DEVELOPED countries.
Rogers (including other carriers), Shame On You! You are not a responsible Canadian business. You will just slow down the economy and degrade the standard of living of Canadians.
We, the consumers, are asking for immediate CHANGE(s)!! We do not want 150 mins/month for $25+ or another 50 mins extra for like $7. Here are some of my thoughts
- Call display should be included for FREE in all packages.
- Increase the MINS! double? triple? I don't care.
- Lower per min and sms cost, it's like 30cents for each min or sms currently!!
- The unlimited incoming call "feature" is a good one btw.
- Rogers' MY5 plan is ok, I appreciate it.
- I remember somewhere on the Internet said the $6.95 monthly system access fee is useless, as every cent of the 6.95 becomes the carriers' revenue! [may not be true]
- Just for comparisons:
another side of the globe - Hong Kong (3 Mobile)
- Monethly plan of $35 HKD (~$5 CAD) = 250 mins
- Similary, $70 HKD (~10 CAD) = 550 mins
- In general, with plans exceed $100 HKD, there are free extra mins.
* all with FREE call waiting, call display, voice mail service, call forwarding, and confrence. (Some includes a certain amount of free sms, like 100 per month)
** Most of the other carriers in HK are even cheaper
I don't understand why the gov't can endure their business practices for so long. And I still don't see much competition or new carriers coming out as the announcement made (by the minister of IC I believe) a few months ago.
Anyways, let's HOPE for new companies to come out soon or the gov't do some REALISTIC things like regulating the prices?
