I think the plans between the US and Canada should be comparable. The argument of 1) that Canada is large ground to cover w/ populations spread out was valid back in the 90s and 2) the driving force for our higher prices is not because of Canada's relative higher cost of goods (eg. gas, alcohol), but a lack of competitive forces. Argument #2 is also not valid because we are talking about technology, and data - not oil, rice, or other commodities. Technology is cheap, data is cheap..let alone, it's practically limitless. $7 for caller ID is like $7 profit, especially given how long the these guys have been around and have pretty much paid off any costs required in setting up the infrastructire. I think these prices are also partly our fault for accepting it - we didn't know any better, and worse, we didn't want to know any better. I think this is a good cause and the right time to wake up the big 3 wireless carriers and force them at their own game. Let's do this.
