I'm in...but we can't expect anything better than the US! It's just a fact, we have more land and less population. I think what we could all agree on is that we for the current prices we should get double(or triple) the voice minutes, no long distance charges for within Canada, unlimited data, unlimited text, no charge for CALL DISPLAY, no SYSTEM ACCESS FEE. We just need something fair....everyone will win, stop holding Canada back from progressing technologically! |

Need an unlimited data plan option for a reasonable rate! |

Enough, is enough for higher rates on text messages |

Sorry for double posting....I forgot: NO 3 YEAR BS. I'd prefer to pay a higher cost for a handset upfront than to be locked in for that long...I travel a lot and live in places for months at a time! Just doesn't cut it for me. 1-2 years MAX if the handset is subsidized! Thanks, Aaron. |

Usually Canadians in general are passive at stepping up and making a change. The recent rally of 60000 of us cost Rogers almost $2,000,000 in lost revenue assuming all of us did not buy into the iPhone plan which by the way, is no different than the original $100/m they wanted to charge. All they did was section off the charges and make you pay for features already built into the iPhone so by the time your plan has the features you want, you still get hozed for a MINIMUM $100/month.
AS a registered iPhone developer, I cannot buy the phone without the plan if I decide I want to develop outside of the Rogers network. I called the Apple developer team in California and the bullshit is the same, - no phone without a plan. This is all VERY unfortunate for Apple because they could very well have torn a huge hole in the hull of the RIM/ Blackberry market if the marketing strategy was designed to saturate the market with low cost entry packages with an offer to upgrade to a multi-feature-rich option later. Suffice to say Rogers blowing their chance, also had impact on Apple shares which took a dive on Friday so Mr. Jobs is going to get his ass kicked for dealing with Rogers only. I'm proud of all those 60k+ Canadians that took on the challenge and rode the rally and didn't buy the crapfully poor excuse of a deal Rogers forced on us. You should all come back here and sign up for a better deal so Rogers and Apple will know we are sitting here ready for a better deal and for me. I'd pay $50/m for a fully featured iPhone with a plan to support it and no charges for incoming calls. Everyone pays for outgoing so why double screw us for incoming. Incoming charges is not negotiable! |
