Moron, it doesn't add much if anything to the cost to have 2 languages on the packaging, and the manufacturer does the software in multiple languages to be able to sell around the world. Stupidity from people like you add more to the cost then anything else could.

Your argument makes no sense. Sony sells identical cameras in Canada and the US. In the US, they use spanish and english packaging. In canada they use French and English.

camera in USA = $370 + $20 for memory card.

Camera in Canada = $500 + 60 for memory card.

No wonder I will cross the border for savings like that...

Before ranting, to give your words more weight, do research first.

You have not been to Ottawa, the Ottawa River Valley, or Northern Ontario if you think no one speaks French in Ontario. [Disclaimer: there may be other regions in the province with large segments of French-speaking population, but these are the examples I could think of off the top of my head]

As well, packaging in the USA generally features text in Spanish, if not a selection of other languages, with some international products featuring English, French, Spanish, German, Cantonese, Japanese, and others.

Putting French on a package does not cost 'extra money' except when a company has not included multi-lingual packaging in the first place, or does not want to print separate packaging for Canada, opting to print off stickers to place over another language.

Difference is that USA labels may have 2 languages, but they have nearly 10x the market so cost is tiny, if they could ship products to canada it would be much cheaper than having to have a seperate print off of english/french labels. There are lots of products that are available in usa but not canada for this reason. I'm from Toronto and I don't know anyone that speaks French, its just ridiculous. The sooner its gone the better..and then maybe we'll get cheaper prices.
