So everybody keeps saying that the prices in the USA are so much cheaper and there are no roaming fees and you can use it all throughout Canada. Why don't people just sign up for an account in the USA and then use their phones here in Canada? If the Canadian phone companies lose enough business to the USA companies they'll HAVE to make their prices even... Poor Taste?

Canadians will always be ripped off by Rogers. Look at their plans and contracts. These contracts have gotten way out of hand especially with the new "Data Contract"

because you need a us address, us credit card, and us SIN to pass the credit check with AT&T

Because : 1). You will get an American Phone #, therefore it would be a long distance call for people to call you. 2). US Providers will disable the phone and demand the early contract termination fee , if the phone is extensively or primarily used outside of the USA.
