It is really pointless seeing so many people arguing over iPhone or if it's affordable or not.

For people who got the cash to burn go ahead and buy the iPhone.

For people who think it's unfair or the price is expensive, don't buy them and get your point across.

For people who dislike Rogers, well wait for the competitions coming to Canada in 18 months or so and don't get yourself locked into another contract.

Look people, everyone are free to express their opinions.  This is a market economy.  The best way to protest against a corporation is to not use their products and lobby the government for more competition and consumer rights.

Rogers did the right thing.  They are operating on behave of their stakeholders (shareholders) to maximize their profit given the market condition.  Kudos to Rogers management.  Are they short-sighted?  Perhaps.  But remember most consumers got a short-term memory.

I cannot honestly guess how many people would actually ditch Rogers when competitions do arrive if they finally "cave-in" and beat the competitors' prices :)
