Damn it, I came all the way from Brazil thinking that I'd be able to buy an iphone and they say I can't buy it withou a plan?

Give me a break....I guess I'll have to go to Seattle to buy it... Go to hell rogers

What's the point of owning an iPhone without a plan?  Do you realize even if you unlock it you still have to subscribe to Rogers or Fido? 

If you do not intend to use iPhone to the fullest, you should probably consider getting an iPod touch.  It's pretty much the same except no GPS/Phone functions/3G network accessibility.

AT&T was going to sell it for over $600 if I remembered correctly (without a contract).  So expect to pay more than $700 for an unlocked one.

But for me it's ok, I just want to get one. As I'm not going to stay in Canada I don't want to buy a plan from rogers (I'm not going to use it), so I want to unlock it in Brazil and then use my current cellphone company in brazil. (It's only coming on october for us, and it will be pretty expensive so it's not worth to buy in Brazil)

then just sign up with rogers using a bogus address get the phone and move to Brazil and never pay rogers (it would be great to see them getting ripped off for a change) when you get to Brazil throw away the rogers sim card, insert one from Brazil and ur up and running!!
