no one said Iphone is not a luxury phone, It is, but if you heard what Steven job said on his speech you would remember, he said they dropped the price of iphone so it would be available for everyone. indeed they did so !

BUT

Comparing the fact that Canada is one of the developed country in the world and practically Rogers cost isnt that different with any given carrier in US, there is no reason for any Canadian to pay on average 33% for the cellphone bill than any citizen of the developed country.

Also i would recommend you go read this : it shows rogers charges the highest for iphone(including the system access fee and data package...) than any other company in the world(after August 31 when the promotion is over, before that rogers is the second highest). Thats just sad seeing someone approaching to the whole story like this and ignore the bigger picture.

a good sale rep/company would make you to buy the product, but after you bought his service/product you dont feel ripped off, do you really think the same when every month you receive your Roger/Telus/Bell bill !?

Its about managing your money, not farting it around!!!  If you can’t pay for the usage then stop complaining and get a $20 pay as you go cheap phone that drops calls..

My 1st gen iPhone on the on a 35$plan + 20$ value pack for text and caller id drops calls too. lol

I probably make more $ than both Stafanie and Heather put together as well as having a few more intact brain cells than both combined..lol

On one hand I can understand their point of views but also understand the concern of over 60,000 ppl now given that indeed rogers' clients will be paying 33% more than anyone else out there. I understand the cost of running a business. I also understand the logistics of supply and demand. What everyone here is saying is that given the large buffer between the cost of an iPhone plan with rogers and the cost on ANY other carier there is alot of room to negotiate a price plan.

The point is rogers introduced the hardware same price as the rest of the world. Everyone received the phone at the same cost. Same heavy subsidized price. But adding a yr to the contract guarantees an increase in profit wich no other carrier has done.

Fact is rogers will make a substantialy larger profit on its sales of the iPhone than any other carier at canadian consumers expense. Perhaps lower that profit and be seen as a player on par with the views of other cariers. Everyone will still make a profit. It just doesnt need to be 1/3 higher than the rest of the world.

 

To add to my last post aimed at Stefanie and Heather. Where's the petition to keep the rogers plans as they are or even better raise the prices since you are more than comfortable with paying high rates. If this petition were to lower your cell phone plan would you be the first to say no thank you I prefer what I have now.

Instead of attacking everyone requesting lower rates why not just appreciate the effort that would benifit the masses. Like the 30$ 6gb plan offered so far

Its not about being poor or rich. It's about principle. Why should I pay this x amount of dollars for something that is offered elsewhere for less? I'm not posting on this website because I want to boycott Rogers about the Iphone, I'm posting because I'm boycotting Rogers for their unforgiving service fees for everything from cable to phone services. It's consumers like you that allow companies to do what the hell ever they please. Fight the power.
