Hi Everyone, I appreciate the “power to the people movement” that you are trying to achieve about the iphone. I’m just wondering if you are willing to take the time to complain and call Rogers and make a big deal about all this why don’t you just not buy the phone?? Rogers is one of very few Canadian companies that is still employing CANADIANS at Canadian wages. I believe it costs them $20-$30 a call that someone has quoted on here. Other providers have third party overseas customer service centers and can cut costs to give unlimited plans. I’m currently using a PDA (hp iPAQ) and I pay my data plan of $80/month for 500MB. I use this phone for work and yes I pay my very own bill. I don’t think the price that Rogers is charging is outrageous by any means. I paid $800 for my hardware only!! The data charges seem reasonable and it doesn’t seem like Rogers is price fixing. Anybody currently using data should not be this outraged?! I will be upgrading to the iphone and understand the implications and payments that will come with it. At the end of the day it is about choice. I cannot believe that you people complaining are the exact reason that the” big bad guy corporations” are out sourcing!!! You simply have an unrealistic idea of the cost of doing business and the media runs with it. I am a proud Canadian even if this means paying a premium for Canadian services and products. Do you buy Canadian produce? Does it cost the same as produce from Mexico or Chile?! Sometimes paying a premium is priceless in my opinion. Poor Taste?

Well excuse me Stefanie, I do appreciate your support for the Canadian industry, and I’m sure people on here would love to own a great product which is operated though a purely Canadian company, however unfortunately we all can’t afford $800 phones and $80/month plans like your self.

I'm not lucky. I need to pay lots of money for my phone because of my job requirements.

It's like complaining about the price of a sports car when you have a budget for a used cavalier.

Why do you complain about the iPhone when it is a premium product with the fastest mobile internet capabilities with most of the applications running on data? Built in gps, stock monitoring etc.

If you need to make emergency phone calls, the phone companies have plenty of cheaper options for your needs.

Thanks Stefanie! Here's an idea - if you don't like the price, don't buy the product! I would love to get an IPhone, but it is not a necessity for me. It is a luxury item, plain and simple. You don't see people protesting about the price of gas outside the Hummer dealership!
