I want to say that the price of Rogers is not only unnecesary high and unregulated but also the quality of the service is very low and unprofessional. I have a contract with them for 3 very large years and the reason is I can't find any other better service.
Let me explain you what I think about it.
The price of my service ( smart phone, of course without dataplan ) is not real. The plan looks very affordable but they did not include in the plan essencial services like "answer machine" or "call display". At the end of what I really need I am paying twice the original price.
Any time I need to contact customer service I really think twice before call. A very funny machine will show up first asking you for details that won't keep, so the next person will ask you again about the same details.
Then, after make line waiting for assistance they will transfer you to the wrong department, they will appologize but will transfer you again to the wrong department. When you finally got the right person you will notice that he or she hardly can help you since their power is very limited and the mechanism has not predict your problem. ( they will put you on hold another 20 minutes )
Any time that they transfer your call you will need to explain again your problem and give them again all your information since they won't keep it. Rogers don't even keep the history of my problem on my records.
Happend to me that when they can't figure out my problem simple hang up on my and you need to start your call from the beginning.
When you buy a phone they include a year of warranty but, if you need to exchange the phone they will send you a refurbished one ( used by somebody else) and you need to pay the shipping ( $25.00 + tax ) and they will use UPS service. UPS works at the same time that we do. So you won't get the phone at home if you are working. You will get a notification to pickup the phone, not in the near UPS office but 23 kms from home using your own gas and your own time for something that is not your fault.
