Rogers is ripping us off with text messaging now. On July 15 the existing text messaging plans as we know them, which includes sending text messages to the US from Canada, will no longer be included in the current text plans, texts sent to the US from Canada will be charged at 25cents/message. You can buy an international text message plan but their highest plan only has a limit of 50 sent messages and every message after that is 25cents/message. This is a rip off, as they don't even offer an unlimited or even higher use plans. How may out there has the same issue? Poor Taste?

As soon as more and more people got their hands on a smartphone... gone the days of text messaging!

the charge is 15¢/msg actually. i was charged for 110 messages because i was unaware that there were now charges for texting the US. and i'm glad it wasn't 25¢/msg! I luckily got them reversed though.. but i am, too, frustrated that there is no text messaging add-on to text the US. they should make one or continue to offer US rates the same as canadian. every other provider, american and canadian, offers US-Canada text messaging for the same as national.

I have the exact same problem. I hate rogers! Telus, Bell, and Koodo are all offering Canada and US texts. I text a lot, I am going to switch out of Rogers because of this.
