Right mate. In Canada Insurance is not for you! It's for them! You pay not to be protected, you pay so you can beg the other driver to keep his moth shut, pay the guy with the damage too so your insurance will not go high!

True Story:

I use to live in the St.Louis,MO area for 2 years.I had a 91 toyota Tercel 4 door.Never had an accident,no tickets,notta,and have a driving certificate(at that time it mattered for me in 2003).My car had full coverage insurance through state farm at $97USD/month!.I moved back to Canada,state farm transfered the paperwork to Canada(biggest mistake ever!)Well guess what?My insurance went from approx $110 Canada a month to a whopping $413.62/month!!!!!!I almost puked when I heard this.So I went to just basic,the bare min coverage and had to pay $250.00/month!I was 19 at the time,im 23 now and im semi outta that crazy rate circle but from what I went through in usa-canada,omg i wish i pid 5 yrs in advance for my state farm in usa!

Write your MLA or MPP (depending on your province) and demand more competition in the insurance industry.
