I should also mention to everyone whining about the contracts your in.. NOBODY put a gun to your head.. you signed a contract with all the information laid out for you.. the piece of paper you signed explains every single last penny, you pay, or even might pay over the course of your contract.

NO Multi-Year CONTRACT!! People are so desperate to have a cell phone that they agree to a multi-year contract.

Come on people! Now that you have the attention of EVERYONE - take down the contract! That is how phone companies got away with charging whatever they can get away with. Most of the world uses Cell phones without any contract. Why do we? Because we allowed it.

This is no deal at all.. due to the limited time of the promotion its basically a way for rogers to appear to be doing something in order to hush all the people who really wanted to get a phone at launch. For all of us that wait a month to get the phone we will be just as fucked as before.

Even with the promo for the base plan the monthly fee is $60 + 0.50 emergency 911 fee, + 7.95 system access fee = 68.45 and that doesnt include call display or voicemail or tax. add another $15 for that and we are sitting at $83.45 + tax = appox $95. Over the course of the contract 3 years that is $3425 just to use all the features of the iphone.

Dont give in. We still need to stand together on this.

God some of you people are stupid...

for everyone who is still going on and on about "stop playing with words.. stop trying to trick us" are you f**king retarded?? This is exactly what you asked for!!! "I want US pricing" DO YOU RESEARCH and read between the lines people!!! AT&T offers unlimited Data WITH A SOFT CAP OF 5GB. We now pay the same price for 6GB. I may not be a rocket scientist.. but 1st grade math tells me we ARE GETTING MORE.

You people are now just whining and complaining for the sake of causing a stink. The only thing I'll agree that we arent on par with is Roaming.. everything else lets do the math..

AT&T- $40 voice (min.), $30 5GB Data (it isn't truely unlimited, get over it!), $20 unlimited texting, Fee's and taxes approx $12... Total Approx. $100 - $105. (US Dollars)

Rogers- $20 voice Minimum (decent plans with 6PM evenings, if you want minutes up to AT&T approx $35), $30 6GB Data, $8 Visual Voicemail, $15 Bundle (which includes Call display and 2500 text... thats about 83 texts a day.. more then enough get over it) fees and taxes approx $21... Total about $90 - $95 CAD or $105 - $110 for equal Daytime Mins.

Stop expecting to pay $30 standard phone pricing to Run an all in one device.. its simple not possible and not going to happen.. they aren't going to lose money to stop your whining and they aren't going to base their prices on what you cheapskates happen to have in your wallet.

The time limit is just marketing.. get over it, as soon as that deal ends another one starts, thats how they have ALWAYS operated. You asked for US Equvilant pricing and thats what you got!!

Coodos Rogers, I was pretty pissed with your original pricing, but Im really happy about what you are now offering, and I appreciate that you did that.. cause as you I and everyone on this site knows you REALLY didn't have to.. This phone is so hot you could have charged $100 flat monthly rate for just the privilage of owning one then pay as you go data and mins and people still would have lined up for it.

Use your head people! GOD...

Rory is Exactly Right! Nobody put a gun to your head to sign a multi-year contract to use a phone. So, how do you fix it? Boycott Cell-phone until they offer fair prices without any contract.

There is no need for a multi-year contract. If you don't pay your bill, you get disconnected just like every other service we have.

Why Rogers can't or doesn't offer anything like Verizon is because the former wants to suck the blood out of the consumers. Rogers doesn't believe in customer satisfaction and in bringing in customers in large numbers and keeping them loyal, they just want to bill them outrageously as much as possible, all the while the Canadian Govermnet remains a happy witness to all this, because the Government of Canada is also taxing its own citizens to death. And this is probably the first time in 200 years Canadians are waking up to the fact that everybody around them in any other country gets the same services (be it from corporations or governments) at a great discount.
