Okay, This is simply a media band-aid and nothing more. Come on Rogers, what are you thinking! with all of the media coverage they are now getting, they adjusted their rates and now everything stopped, all the negative media coverage seems to have lessened? As a former Telus Mobility employee the math is simple: $30/mo plan costs Rogers approx $4.95 to administer and that is it! The Data plans are one of the worst in the free world! If you can imagine that. In our industrialized nation of Canada, you, me and the rest of the cell junkies take our shot every month when our bill comes in. The other fees are pure profit centers. The System access fee, once your phone is active, that's it. that is like the land line being charged monthly to dial your mothers house, just to use the phone, friends, this is because we Canadians are weak, we feel we've received justice, well we haven't. Stand up again my friends and fight the fight more or I can assure you, after 90-days, you will see your bill from Rogers go up, waaaay up, don't be fooled by this media band-aid. Good luck and don't back down, sign the petition.

Was going to buy two but not after seeing the old plans or the new plans. Will wait until Rogers wakes up or get Bell's Samsung. |

Carmen, No dis-respect intended but, WHAT are you thinking. Do the math again friend, they don't even come close and you need to look south of the 49th to really see how badly we are and over in Europe, hell look at Malaysia, where people make less than $8K/year all have cell phones with plans under $10/mo! Voice and Data so who do you work for again? You took your opportunity to voice your opinion due to our democratic process, now understand that you also open yourself up for rebuttal and so it is. Know your full facts before you post!

Rogers has done what all governments and monopolies do. They first try to implement the most unfair, draconian policies imaginable. Then when the people cry out and protest, they roll back to what they really wanted all along. So this is no deal, they are just offering what they wanted all along. They tried the more expensive plans to see what people would take, and when people complained, they made it look like they caved but they really didn't.
Keep up the complaints, keep signing petitions, this fight is not over!

$60 per month for 150 daytime voice call minutes is raping Canadian consumers. When you have to add $30 per month for data access you're up to $90 per month or a total of $3,240 over 3 years - for a phone?? Let's face it, all that Rogers/Bell/Telus/Fido/etc/etc is providing is a dumb pipeline. Looks like we'll need the gov't to step in and regulate these buggering pirates. |
