I am a newly landed immigrant in Canada and I reside here a Calgary and the cellphone charges by Rogers is very crazy. They seem to monopolize the telecommunications industry here. And what the hell is a 3yr contact? why do they need to lock in their consumers for that long period of time? I wanted to get out of my rogers plan. But I need to pay for a couple of hundred dollars to get out of the contact. I they could provide more affordable plans for their loyal consumers.

It's simple, Rogers must at the least match the US plans or else the device won't have an optimum usage. 60-70$/month, unlimited data including the voice plan (and preferably texting, voice mail and call ID included as well). This is no option, it's a must. I'll never be getting one without these conditions.

First of all, the US has a larger population in comparison to Canada, which is why they can offer cheaper plans to their consumers because they have more subscribers to balance out their figures. In Canada, they have to keep their prices higher in order to compete with US carriers. I don't think its fair, and wish that Rogers offered what Sprint has, the Simply Everything plan, where you get unlimited talk, text, and data for just $99.99 a month. |

I just talked to a Rogers rep today and she said that it's $30 for unlimited data and is now capped at $100. So basically $100 for unlimited usage???
On a side note... what I find interesting is that I have a work phone provided by my employer who has about 25,000 employees. The plan they have is unlimited usage 24/7 with no contract. They just have to buy the phone outright. If a cellphone company is willing to offer a company with 25,000 employees UNLIMITED usage, why not offer unlimited to everyone instead of this nickle and dimming everyone?? And they only pay $30 a month!!! Yet people are paying $40 a month for 250 day time minutes. WTF???
