Unfortunately, we got to a point where we need a little regulation and support. Not only US but also Europe pays a lot less for cell phone packages, less restrictions and to give an example, no monthly service fee and the caller ID display is standard. Cell phones are no longer a luxury.

The cellular industry is poorly regulated, and it takes advantage of this fact to give Canadians the most expensive service in the developed world. What are these mysterious access fees? Why is Rogers allowed to charge customers twice for their voicemail (once while the message is being recorded, once while it is being played back)? Why are no eyebrows raised when Bell and Telus decide to charge for incoming text messages.... ON THE SAME DAY?   Why are the telcos allowed to prevent consumers from using the phones they purchased and own on a different network?  There's collusion going on, and a complete lack of corporate ethics. I think the only realistic solution is for parliament to step in. Please help, MPs!
