That's because lot of wholesale clothing companies (those that sell further to retailers etc.) are  too arrogant to assume  'be Canadian, buy Canadian' - not realizing the retail price then will be  'Canadian', not as competitive as other countries !

That's because Canadian retailers do not understand basic economics well enough about lowered price import goods; they only want to 'be Canadian, buy Canadian', hence they charge 'Canadian' prices and are not competitive with other countries.
