I would like to know, our dollar is at par with the US $ so why are we still paying such a huge difference on books? I tried to pay the US$ price in a large Canadian outlet store with US money and they wouldn't accept it :}
Time to change that rip off.

I agree - ESPECIALLY when one considers that so many of the books we're marked-up on here are acutally PRINTED IN CANADA!
So... we're paying for the printing/binding, and THEN paying to have them shipped back to the U.S. and then *back* to Canada again.

Simply mind-boggling.

alot of bookstores are hiding the american price on books some book companies are no longer printing the american price on books to avoid this.
when the dollar first reached parity the big book chians said it would take a few months for the price of books to come down because of inventory. well it has been almost a year and nothing has changed. I suggest to buy from ebay or amazon untill canadian bookstores get the point.
