It is actually one of the most expensive services out there as well and in true Rogers fashion, you get less for the higher price!

We have an alternative to ensure people do not waste a dime on airtime other than the basic plan fees.  It works with customers that have unlimited incoming calls, a plan that costs $25 a month.  Adding our 'Mobile Plus' service, which is $10 per month or $100 per year ($20/mth for unlimited in CAN & US), the customer can make unlimited outbound calls without incuring fees on the Rogers/Fido network.

Even our Home Phone service is under $200 per year. 

iPhone with Rogers?!?!  I just can't afford it.  It is too.....expensive.  I am better off with out it.

Telus and Bell are now going to be charging for incoming text messages! Outrageous.

Boycott them as well.  But who does that leave?

Does anyone remember the trouble Rogers got into in the early 1990's with negative billing and cablevision plans in BC?

They were taken to task for that by consumers and it worked.  Negative billing is now illegal.

Consumer voices must be respected.

Telus isn't the only company that charges system access fees-they are probably the only one that is being upfront about it.  Rogers and Bell also charge these fees and if you don't see it right on your bill (like Telus) then it is a hidden cost.  I am not a Telus fan by any means, but make sure you know what you are talking about before singling out one particular company.

If you aren't going to be texting then look into Kodoo.  Any of the other smaller companies (Fido etc) are owned by either Rogers or Bell.  Check into the company that you are signing with and read the WHOLE contract and do not agree to a verbal contract-you will never get a copy of what you agreed to and will be out of luck if yout hen try to argue anything,.
