my girlfriend just signed up for the "Unbeatable Plan" with Solo, it's awesome. 25 bucks a month, no other fees (except tax) and you get 150 minutes, UNLIMITED texting, evenings start at 7, call answer, and the phone was 25 bucks. call display was another 5, and an extra 100 minutes is 10. I pay 60/month for basically the same plan from Rogers with less minutes and no texting. I'll be canceling and switching to this. Save me 15 bucks a month and get a nice new phone.

Yes, I'm a Rogers customer, but only as long as I can have what I want for a reasonable price.  And that is changing.

I am a Smartphone user, not the iPhone, but they both have the potential to make good use of "always on" 3G networks.

So why can't I use 3G just like home highspeed - as much as I want for a reasonable price?

European and US telecoms are far ahead in providing their customers with comprehensive, well-priced unlimited internet access from mobile devices.

Why can't I have that here in Canada?

My loyalty goes to a Canadian telecom who provides unlimited mobile device access to the internet at a reasonable price.

Rogers, you have it in you to be on-top by doing this.  I sure hope your silence means you planning to release this service.  Giddyap!

Move the USA.  That is one alternative to Canada!  Everything is cheaper.  So what if you have to pay $300/month for health insurance.  In the long run. . .you save.

Rogers, Bell and Telus. Honestly there is no difference. As Canadians we are all being milked by what is effectivly a monopoly. I am with Telus, I was thinking about Rogers, now I will go with Virgin.

At least with Virgin what you see is what you pay and they are at least not completely owned by one of the evil 3.

Bell Mobility will begin charging customers 15 cents per incoming text message on Aug. 8. Telus Mobility is moving to the same billing practice effective Aug. 24. Until now, their pay-per-use customers who send text messages have been charged a 15-cent fee per message, but it hasn't cost anything to receive them.

Basically if someone sends you a wack of text messages, whether you wanted them or not, it could cost you potentially hundreds of dollars on top of your regular charges.  Yikes!!!

Me, I am thinking of going with Telus with the HTC Touch Diamond. It's not an iPhone, but it looks quite amazing, even if it's a Windows Mobile Phone. There's a GPS with google map, a 30$ unlimited data plan. The only downside looks to be the batterie life (on the GSM model, dunno what's about the CDMA model) and the 4 gigs, non-expendandle memory.

But I am seriously thinking of going with Telus, even if this means that I will lose all my Fido Dollars!
