I have Acanac Inc. for my DSL and VOIP services.  I pay $9.95/mo for my Un-limited to US & Canada VOIP and $18.95/mo DSL 5MBS (all prices paid up front in a lump sum for the year, and after your first year of service you start baying 34.95/mo still cheaper then the comparable Roger's service).  It's a newer Canadian Company out of Mississauga and they offer a client referall program, whereby if you refer 10 friends, your service is free for life!  Check them out at www.acanac.com

I can't believe how Rogers is sticking it to consumers on the iPhone with their packages. It seems to me that having a monopoly is really working in their favour. I have been waiting for a year to get my new iPhone, but I am prepared to wait another year and see if Rogers reduces it's prices. I hope Apple can help resolve this terrible injustice. 

Is it possible for Canadians to purchase cell service from US service providers?  I live close to the border and I would love to get a Verison account.

Fair enough. But Virgin is not GSM based in Canada. Why, oh why, did Virgin Canada go with the CDMA system when they are GSM in the UK ?

I did some research, the best one I have personally found is Telus's pre paid phone plans, for 45 bucks you get unlimited text messaging, unlimited nights and weekends at 6 and 5 numbers you can call nationally. Mind you you need to top up every month but at least your in control of your bill! and you can choose any phone as long as you can pay the full price the lowest i calculated was 80 bucks with taxes and everything!

Havent used rogers cell in years they were crooks bac then and croos now. the rest are no better. maybe time for a startup to enter the market and give real choices....do not buy an iphone every unsold unit reminds them how stupid they are being
