We may not need alternatives. First off, just think what not getting the iphone would do to rogers. If the minimum plan is $60 a month + $8/month system fees and 911 fees, and the contract is 36 months, that is roughly $2500 revenue for each iphone. And there is 60,000 people that won't be getting the iphone (those that have complained here)that equates to roughly roughly $150 million dollars in lost revenue. That is something they will take notice of. |

At the moment I'm with Bell Canada - into the 2nd yr of a 3yr contract (Palm Treo). The data plan sucks so I *very* rarely use it ($25/4MB/month). I'm looking at the Blackberry WorldEdition 8830 next year from Telus (can't afford it right now) as it has CDMA and GSM capability. There's no point in going with Rogers mobility because in order to travel home to Newfoundland (driving), there is Very few access points for Rogers. In fact, you can't get any service west of Clarenville (in NL). So, 95% of the island has no points of access. I live in New Brunswick where there is much more access, but Rogers really seems to like to piss off its customer base. |
