I hate contracts and haven't had one for a few years.  I only have Pay-and-Talk with Telus, and recently had text messaging disabled.  I also have Tracfone in the US that has nation-wide calling (no LD charges), can be used anywhere in the US, and the rates are significantly cheaper (about $0.05/min)!  Another free feature that Tracfone offers is to assign a Canadian number to the phone so that friends in Canada could call me without paying LD charges. 

I just don't understand why we are paying so much more here for cellular services.  I sure would like to see some of the US service providers come to Canada and provide competition to Rogers, Telus and Bell.

Rogers is expansives.

There are only 4 places in the world that are offering unlimited data on the iPhone, Rogers plans are as good or better than most the other countries.  If you want to download tons to the phone use the Wifi, for starters it faster.

Telus is giving a decent plan for the HTC Diamond. I am pretty sure that I will get more from my money from them... For now.
What we need is unlimited data to "ANY" website, we need the freedom to roam and choose what we see and do on the net, being free doesn't necessarily mean being trap, there's no freedom in being trap on a contract just to "see" the freedom.

Avoid RBC Communications long distance!

I switched over last year (big mistake), started canceling the program in February 2008.  Took them till June 2008 to finally close the account and stop pestering me.

I had to call them every month (after I received the on-line bill) and talk to a supervisor to get any response, but still took six months to settle my account.

Not worth it.
