Toyota is laughing all the way to the bank. For instance :

GSh = 69 200 $ CDN but 55 800 $ in the USRXh = 53 650 $ but 41 580 $ in the USLSh = 119 400 $ but 104 900 $ in the US
I sent them an email and they replied by threatening me that if I bought the car in the US, they would not honour the warranty (what's even funnier is that I wasn't even thinking about buying the car in the US when I sent my email)...

We used to having an IS300 and was due to replace by the latest edition.  After I saw the difference $ between the US a CDN, I decided to simply boycott the brand and move with BMW.  Ciao Lexus... Hello Beamer 1 Serie!

The more noise we make the better. We canadians don't make much noise, SO BE LOUD AND MAKE YOURSELF HEARD.

Some car companies are better than others, do a google search for a magazine article about this. Some companies will honor US warranties fully in Canada, some companies will reimburse you (but first you have to pay yourself when repairing in Canada) and other companies will fully screw you and not honor their warranty. They make it easy - choose a different car where they will honor your warranty regardless of where you choose to live or buy your car! Vote with your dollars people.
