Losing any money you have on your phone after six weeks is nothing short of theft. The cellphone industry tried this in the UK, and the regulatory body stood up and declared it an illegal practice to expect people to pay every X number of weeks to keep their phone active. Now you just top up your phone when you need too, not when TOLD too by Virgin and other companies.
Yet Virgin and friends gets away with it. I have written to Virgin and got some asinine excuse. It's basically denying poorer folk access to cellphones. Right now I've got one day and $10 left on my phone. I either pay another $15 and exacerbate the situation meaning I'll have $15 or more left in six weeks, or let it slide and lose $10 now.
