I believe that Canadians have more disposable income than American's though. I think that may play a part in the higher costs to run the iphone in Canada. Luckally we are getting the iPhone at the same price as the Americans... I was surprised that we dont have to pay an addition 20% more like we usually do. Thats yet another rant, the fact that you can buy a book or DVD in the US for almost 20% less than in Canada although the dollar is on par.

Lol im pretty sure it is a monopoly though. Like Microsoft was considered a monopoly even though there were other options out there such as Linux for PC operating systems. Lots of phones / good phones are primarily GSM and only Rogers is able to provide that service to us.

Like recently in the US XM and Sirius satelite radio (the only 2 satelite radio companies) were allowed to merge into one.... I can't believe how this is possible... the DOJ ( department of justice ) and the FCC both allowed this to happen.. there will never be competition in the satelite radio market now.

So thats also how the cdn gov. is allowing Rogers to run a monopoly here because its a cdn company. Im sure if this was AT&T in Canada the gov. would be complaining about their dominance.
